Synopsis

Michelle Pfeiffer stars as former Marine-turned-high school teacher, Louanne Johnson, whose first teaching assignment is to a high school class of smart but tough students. As their new instructor, the feisty Ms. Johnson defies all the rules and creates her own curriculum that includes cajoling and bribing the kids into learning. More important, Johnson teaches the kids to believe in themselves and their potential despite the everyday challenges of growing up in the inner city.
