About the Author

Timothy Wilcox has held curatorial positions at the British Museum and the V&A. He is a regular contributor to the Cambridge International Summer School and was for ten years an Associate Lecturer at the University of Surrey. Caron Penney is a weaver and artist. She is Head of the West Dean Tapestry Studio in West Sussex - one of the leading international proponents of traditional tapestry production - and is project coordinator and team leader on the Studio's current Historic Scotland commission for Stirling Castle.
