Bonnie K. Hunter is passionate about making scrap quilts. She enjoys teaching workshops and lecturing to quilt guilds worldwide, challenging quilters to break the rules, think outside the box, and find what brings them joy. quiltville.com
January 2016 Bonnie K. Hunter not only supports the reuse,
re-purpose and recycle mantra but with her quilt designs she also
walks the walk. This is Bonnie's second book of scrappy quilts and
in it she explains how to 'quilt green' by sourcing fabric from
charity shops, church and school jumble sales, and from your
friends and family, in fact anywhere you can find fabric of the
right composition. She also offers advice on how to prepare and
organise your re-purposed scraps. This book has 13 quilt designs
with lots of very clear photographs and illustrations. Bonnie has a
very clear style when writing the instructions for each quilt and
every chapter includes lots of practical hints and tips, plus
snippets about how the quilts were designed. My favourite of the
many photographs in the book is of the glorious back of Bonnie's
Carolina Christmas Quilt which is made up of orphan blocks combined
with scraps of Christmas Fabric, scrappy heaven.
