Julie Agoos is the author of two previous collections of poetry. She received a BA from Harvard University and an MA from The Writing Seminars of The Johns Hopkins University. She taught for eight years as a lecturer in the Creative Writing Program at Princeton University, and is now an Associate professor at Brooklyn College/CUNY.
Won the Yale Series of Younger poets Prize selected by James Merill (Merrill also wrote the foreword to her first book). Library Journal praise for earlier work: "A sure presence and considerable skill." Winner of the Brooklyn College/CUNY Creative Achievement Award, The Frost Place Summer Residency, The Towson State University Prize for Literature, The Briggs Literary Fellowship, Harvard University and The Grolier Poetry Prize.
