Jan Rijkhoff is an Associate Professor in the Department of
Linguistics, University of Aarhus, Denmark. Upon gaining his Ph.D.
from the University of Amsterdam (1992), he was appointed as a
senior researcher at the same institution before going on to become
Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Konstanz in Germany
(1995). From 1990-5, Professor Rijkhoff was also a core member of
Theme Group II (Constituent Order) in the European Science
Foundation's
'Program in Language Typology "EUROTYP"'.
