Alka-Lea was born and raised in Zimbabwe. She is a qualified Montessori Teacher and has been teaching for over 18 years. She currently lives with her husband and two children in England. Mike the Mechanic is one of her first books from a series of six books which have been inspired by her husband Michael, the real 'Mike the Mechanic'.
