Reviews

"James Acker's The Long Run introduces us to two funny, unique, passionate narrators, and also to a boldly authentic new voice in queer fiction. Written with equal doses of heart and ferocity, this is a fabulous debut. Bash and Sandro will run away with your heart." --Abdi Nazemian, author of Stonewall Honor book Like a Love Story and The Chandler Legacies "Raw, real, electric, and unputdownable, The Long Run goes the distance! Acker boldly breaks all the rules with his poignant, passionate prose. I never wanted to leave Sandro and Bash, who show us that love--and sex--is not a sprint to the finish, but an investment in the long run." --Steven Salvatore, critically acclaimed author of And They Lived... "Sandro and Bash are not your typical YA queer couple, so buckle up! They curse, they're coarse, and they're in love--maybe. Don't ask them, it's complicated. James Acker is a splashy new voice with an unforgettable romcom about tough guys with soft hearts." --Adam Sass, award-winning author of Surrender Your Sons and The 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers "The Long Run is a raw, emotional love story anchored in two journeys of self-discovery... A stunning novel." --Bookpage, starred review "Refreshingly credible images of the messy lives and desires of contemporary teens." --Publishers Weekly "A thoughtful coming-of-age story and tender romance with two memorable main characters that will wiggle their way into readers' hearts and stay long past the final page." --BCCB
