I find the The Lean Games and Simulations Book great and very
useful. I have used several (> 20) of the games in both top
management trainings and general lean trainings with extraordinary
feedback from the participants. The book includes a number of games
that really gives the participants a knowledge through experience
that is difficult to develop in a lecture set-up. Many of the games
explains lean as a system and not only as lean tools or methods for
example a dice game for queue theory, push and pull planning
principles, systems thinking, etc.
The games are well described with material, instructions, learning
points and further reading and references - brilliant!
Many of the games requires an experienced Instructor as the theory
behind needs to be explained and exemplified through cases
(preferable own experience). As the games are so well explained in
a transparent way they can easily be adjusted and developed for
specific needs.
Thank you John for this book! It has giving me not only a whole
bunch of good exercises but also a deeper understanding why
experience based learning is so effectful.- Pia Anhede, owner
