chair of the department of kinesiology at the University of
Wisconsin–Eau Claire. He primarily teaches in the rehabilitation
science program, focusing on exercise physiology, fitness
assessment and exercise prescription for healthy and clinical
populations, and electrocardiography.
Janot received his PhD in health, physical education, and
recreation, with a focus on exercise physiology, from the
University of New Mexico. His research interests include sports
physiology in hockey and baseball, applied cardiovascular
physiology, and enhancing functional abilities of younger and older
adults and those with chronic disease.
Janot holds certifications as an ACSM Clinical Exercise
Physiologist and USA Hockey Level 5 Master Coach. Additionally,
Janot has coached hockey at the youth level and currently coaches
baseball at Eau Claire Memorial High School. He resides in Eau
Claire, Wisconsin, with his wife, Jill, and their two children, Ben

Nicholas M. Beltz, PhD, ACSM RCEP, is an assistant professor
in kinesiology. He currently serves as the director of the Exercise
Physiology Laboratory and director of the Community Fitness Program
at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. His teaching
responsibilities are within the rehabilitation science and exercise
science programs, specifically courses in laboratory methods,
exercise physiology, and community fitness programming.
Beltz received his PhD in physical education, sports, and exercise
science, with an emphasis in exercise science, from the University
of New Mexico. His research is focused on central cardiovascular
responses to concurrent exercise, evaluation of maximal oxygen
uptake, and acute and chronic responses to resistance training.
Beltz has coached high school football and currently coaches
baseball at Eau Claire Memorial High School. He resides in Eau
Claire, Wisconsin, with his beautiful wife, Kjirsten, and their
