About the Author

Helen McGinn is the author of award-winning wine blog The Knackered Mother's Wine Club and three books including The Knackered Mother's Wine Guide, Teetotal Tipples and Homemade Cocktails. She has a weekly wine column in the Daily Mail and regularly appears on television as a wine expert. She's won numerous awards for her blog, including Fortnum & Mason's Online Drink Writer of the Year and Red magazine's Best Blogger. Helen spent almost a decade sourcing wines from around the world as a supermarket wine buyer before spending the next half-decade pregnant. She is married with three children, too many dogs and a weird cat. Her desert island wine would be a bottle of 1988 vintage champagne. Her desert island dish would not be left-over fish fingers.

Reviews

Love love love this book. It doesn't just simplify wine, it simplifies life. Essential reading.
*India Knight*

Raise a glass to this deliciously simple guide.
*Daily Mail*

Presented in a humorous, chatty style this book is an intelligent, hugely informative wine guide and McGinn is certainly well qualified to pass on advice.
*Daily Express*

Useful, interesting and very funny - every woman who owns a corkscrew or knows about screw-caps needs a copy of this book.
*Victoria Moore, author of The Wine Dine Dictionary*

Call it a wine book if you will. It's also a book about contemporary parenthood. I heartily recommend it.
*Jewish Chronicle*

Her accessible and entertaining guide takes us through a ‘school year’ of simple wine lessons from an autumn term of cosy fireside reds to a summer ‘love-in’ of fruity outdoor favourites.
*Lancashire Evening Post*
