interested to see how she would handle real historical characters
as opposed to fictional ones. The answer is just as deftly as her
imaginary figures. She brings the famous Scottish heroine Flora
MacDonald to life as well as clearly explaining the intricate
politics of the Highlands and Islands in the run up to and the
aftermath of the 1745 Rising. As usual the research is spot on and
not only was I gripped by a great story but it increased my
knowledge of a fascinating period of history. I highly recommend

The Jacobite Lass well worth the read. This is one of those books
you just can't put down until you come to the end. It is a very
fast moving book so I hope other readers enjoy it as much as I
