Thomas S. Bremer is Associate Professor of Religious Studies atRhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. A historian ofreligions in the Americas, his research focuses on religion andculture, with special emphasis on tourism. He is the author ofBlessed with Tourists: The Borderlands of Religion andTourism in San Antonio (2004) and has published a number ofarticles on religion and tourism in the United States andelsewhere.
