Bernard Brown has been a Professor of Law at the University of
Auckland since the 1960s, where he has taught such well-known New
Zealanders as ex-Prime Minister David Lange, and Winston Peters. He
was conscripted into the RAF in 1956 where he served in Egypt and
Southeast Asia. After finishing his military service he studied law
in Singapore before emigrating to New Zealand. He has previously
published books with Cape Catley and Butterworths (Sydney), amongst
others. He was Honorary President of PEN for 2017/18.
Brian Lovelock (Illustrator) won the Best Picture Book at the 2009
NZ Post Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.
