Reviews

"Reminiscent of the Little House stories, Cimarron Girl is the story of a girl in Oklahoma and how her life was changed by the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. The story is told in a simple way and does an excellent job of showing the reader the difficulties that a farming family went through during this time. The beautiful pictures bring the story to life. At the end of the book there is a timeline of actual events during the 1930s to help tie the book into history, and would make this a great choice for use in a history lesson. I also appreciated the author including information on how farming techniques of the era worsened the Dust Bowl and what was changed to prevent this going forward." -Rachel Stansel
