Dr Georgios Theotokis is a historian specializing in the military history of the eastern Mediterranean in late antiquity and the Middle Ages. He has published numerous articles and monographs on the history of conflict and warfare in Europe and the Mediterranean in the medieval and early modern periods including Norman Campaigns in the Balkans 1081-1108 and Byzantine Military Tactics in Syria and Mesopotamia in the Tenth Century. He has taught in several Turkish and Greek universities and is currently an Assistant Professor at Ibn Haldun University, Istanbul..
