About the Author

Christina Sumner is a curator of decorative arts and design at the Powerhouse Museum. She has travelled widely in the Central and Southeast Asian region and has conducted significant research into traditional textiles and textile technology. She is author of Beyond the Silk Road: Arts of Central Asia.
