"Do you want to design sustainably and learn how to create structures that serve people and the environment? Do you wonder about a day in the life of an architect and the path to licensure? With succinct facts, helpful infographics, and illuminating interviews, architect and educator Danielle Willkens brings us a deep understanding of the profession's history and how the field can balance beauty, community needs, creativity, and functionality. This book is a wonderful add to middle and high school libraries and also an invaluable resource for any humanities teacher or guidance counselor assisting youth in career exploration. Danielle has designed a powerful tool for teens who seek to further explore their passion." --Lyn Fairchild Hawks, young adult author and educator

"This book has everything a creative teen could possibly want to know about architecture and design. Danielle is as engaging an educator and historian as there is today; she has worked extensively with teens to broaden their horizons and connect their interests. A must-read for any parent or guidance counselor!" --Andrew Daley, AIA, senior associate, SHoP Architects
