"Stacey Rawson is a leader in the area of trauma-sensitive
practices. Her interest in and passion for helping students who
have experienced trauma in their lives is inspiring. Applying
Trauma- Sensitive Practices in School Counseling is an excellent
resource for helping counselors, teachers, administrators and
parents understand how trauma affects children's stress response
and behavior. She teaches the reader how to meet students where
they are at emotionally and provides realistic coping strategies
that work." —Edward Gigliotti, University of San Diego,
USA"Trauma-informed practices has resulted in a major shift in how
we support the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of
students. I have been continually impressed with Stacey Rawson’s
ability to not only implement these practices in Santee School
District but also in her leadership and teaching of others in these
practices. This resource guide will allow school professionals to
implement current best practices in trauma-informed care of all
students." —Dr. Kristin Baranski, Superintendent, Santee School
District, USA"This is the ‘go-to’ book for school counselors and
school counselors-in-training to understand and respond to the
impact of trauma on children and adolescents in schools. It is
designed to engage learning and to be utilized as a guide to
developing a comprehensive trauma-sensitive school counseling
practice. This book provides school counseling specific strategies
to developing tiered interventions and school-wide programming to
further support students impacted by trauma and crises. It’s a
great contribution to the field!" —Erika Cameron, PhD, University
