'Travel journo Paul Gogarty wrangles a career of eccentric characters and amusing situations into an A-to-Z of quirky humanity. Alaskan Lonely Hearts Club is warm, easily digestible and often eye-opening.'--Wanderlust; 'Travel the globe in an A-Z of stories peopled by some of the planet's most eccentric characters, as told by travel journalist and TV presenter, Paul Gogarty. There are few writers so attuned to finding and telling a travel tale from the unexpected.' -- Sarah Barrell, National Geographic Traveller; 'I loved Paul's insights into places I’ll never visit, especially his wildlife encounters and chilly plunge into Arctic waters off Greenland.'—The People's Friend; 'Great travel writing takes the reader beyond their own borders. I luxuriate in the lines of this book because I couldn't have written them.' --Nicholas Crane
