About the Author

Rachael's vocal wit has been broadcast across Australia as co-host of the 2Day FM and B105FM Hot 30 Countdown and host of the 2GO Powder Room. Rachael is a regular on the Richard Fidler show on ABC radio in Oz and The Nicky Campbell program on BBC5. Rachael was the first radio announcer in Australia to marry a couple live on air after securing a $10 000 wedding for her Central Coast radio show "The Powder Room", has shared a bed with Jon Bon Jovi and ransacked Janet Jackson's luggage - all in the name of radio. Rachael's sassy and irreverent opinions are sought after on television panels including Channel Ten's Beauty and The Beast and ABC Dimensions. She has worked as an entertainment reporter, fashion reporter and person on the street for Channel 9's Blankety Blanks, Foxtel's Just Us Blokes and On The Road and has appeared on Mikey Robbin's Campaign program for The Comedy Channel. Rachael has been published in Marie Claire, New Woman, Cleo, B Magazine, Minx, Women's Health, Australian Women's Forum, She, Sunday Life, Money Magazine, The West Australian, The Sunday Telegraph and The Sun Herald. As a humourist Rachael's column "Rach Against The Machine" was published in The Mag and was re-invented as "Out-Racheous" for Minx Magazine. She is also regularly published as a columnist in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Sun Herald and Sunday Age Sunday Life. Rachael was awarded the Australia Council ASA Mentorship for 1999 for her first book Good Girls Do Swallow, an Australian bestseller. It has been published in the UK, Germany and Canada and inspired an award winning documentary presented, co-produced and written by Rachael in association with Foxtel's The LifeStyle Channel. The TV Special (also called Good Girls Do Swallow) has been broadcast in over ten countries. In 2002 Rachael was awarded the EDNA RYAN AWARD for HUMOUR (for using wit to promote women's interests) by the Women's Electoral Lobby.
