Reviews

When Chris Bronson and his ex-wife, Angela, take a week's holiday in Venice, they expect canals, plazas, and Italian history-not murders, serial killers, and vampires! While the vampire element seemed farfetched to Chris, it isn't out of the realm of believability to have a vampire cult. When Angela is snatched, what is a crime for the Italian police becomes Chris's raison d'etre. Graeme Malcolm's cultivated European accent makes this audio more appealing than the graphic violence other-wise would have rendered it. Although not romanticizing the vampires or villains, Malcolm lends a cultured air to the ritual and history, no matter how brutal. He also segues easily between the Italians and Chris's and Angela's British accents, which makes it easy to keep the characters straight. VERDICT The story requires a serious suspension of disbelief, but Malcolm's narration smooths the way. Not for the faint of heart.-Jodi L. Israel, MLS, Birmingham, AL (c) Copyright 2012.
