This is the true story of two boys who live on the wild and rugged West Coast of the South Island.
Jack Marcotte - who was nine at the time of writing his book with his father - is the older brother of Charlie and son of Josh Marcotte, commonly known as the Kiwi Bushman. They live on the rugged West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. Josh grew up in Napier and the Ruapehu region and has worked in shearing, forestry and rafting in Canada and New Zealand. These days he spends as much time fishing and hunting as he can, also guiding and trapping possums. He owns and operates a white-water rafting company specialising in wilderness expedition trips.
