About the Author

Dr Valerie Pellatt is Senior Lecturer in Chinese Translation and Interpreting at Newcastle University. She has written on Chinese language and culture, the use of numbers in Chinese language, and on translation from Chinese to English. Her publications include Thinking Chinese Translation and Translating Chinese Culture.
