About the Author

John Leech is a former director of Europe House and Executive Member of the Council of Britain in Europe. Currently he is European co-ordinator of West-West Agenda and Council Member of the Federal Trust. He has published widely on the issues of Europe and security. His books include Halt! Who Goes Where?: The Future of Nato in the new Europe (1991) and Asymmetries of Conflict (2002).
