About the Author

Tom Kenny, FHRS, CCDS Tom Kenny has always been an educator. From his start as aCritical Care Educator for the North Broward Hospital District inFort Lauderdale, Florida, to serving as Director of Education atPrepMD in Braintree, Massachusetts, Tom has focused on providingreal-world, practical education for clinicians. Although he hasserved on faculty at Broward Community College and lectures for theHeart Rhythm Society and the Food and Drug Administration, Tom hasalways believed that it was imperative to educate the frontlines of healthcare, the men and women clinicians across thecountry who treat patients day in and day out. He has served atIntermedics and St. Jude Medical in corporate medical deviceeducation, where he sought to make highly complicated therapieseasily understood. In his tenure at both companies, he expandedtraining programs and developed educational materials. Finding thatthere was little in the way of pacemaker training for educatedclinicians who just did not happen to know pacing, Tom brought hisstyle of training to the classroom and now to book form. Tom is anative New Yorker who currently divides his time betweenMassachusetts and Texas. He has five children.
