About the Author

Established in Milan from the creative joint between Marco Klefish, Giorgio Di Slavo and Riccardo Trotta, the Marte studio deals with graphic design and is particularly focused on editorial projects, packaging and fashion design. True to its independent roots, Marte draws on its passions for a work which is very different from the average, usually low profile, of many street graphics. Its sources vary from the Californian psychedelia of Rick Griffin and Victor Moscoso, to the Japanese poster art of Tadanori Yoko and Kiyoshi Awazu, including Scalarini, Jacovitti, Gabor Palotai, Stefen Sagmeister and Herman Zapf. Marco Klefisch: Milan based visual artist who works crossing the border between design, illustration and direction. His aim is to create persistent images, interactive set design as the compendium of live performance and multidisciplinary projects dedicated to the creative community. He developed projects in a multiplicity of realms from advertising to live events and branded contents for cultural and commercial clients such as Vodafone, BMW, Carhartt, Microsoft, Mont Blanc, Krizia, Live Nation, RCS, Lago, Red Bull, Samsung, Rivista Studio, Michiko London Koshino, Better World Finance. As a graphic designer inside the "Workinclass" project has dealt with: Sergio Tacchini, Slam Jam, Vodafone. He is co-founder of the RebelInk group (Beanone, Rae Martini, Marco Klefisch) that turns into live performances the improvisation of calligraphy, illustration and aerosol art. His works, words and images have been published in i-D, Arkitip, Vice U.S., The End, Ala Champfest, Corriere della Sera, D di Repubblica, Urban, Wired, Drome. He takes part in the collective exhibition U.V. Ultra Violento at gallery Le Dictateur in Milan and his set design project entitled Mirror Stage Diving has been hosted by Triennale di Milano, Museo del Novecento, Teatro Franco Parenti. He teaches creative research at IED - Istituto Europeo del Design. Giorgio DiSalvo: Worked as graphic designer for "Workinclass" project and developed a personal research in fashion design. Is co-founder of the clothing brand Vanguard. In 2006 two of his artworks entered in the summer collection of the Stussy brand. Over the years, he has been collaborating as a graphic designer with different independent identities (King Kong, Letal and Yuter). In the last year he has contributed to Sneaker Magazine and has been recently interviewed on Garage Magazine. Participated in the collective show Now Underground (Central Station, track 21, Milan), Talk To the City (Care Off, Milan) Riccardo Trotta: Graphic designer, in 1999 is co-founder of the "Workinclass" projects. Over the years, he has been art director for his group and other brands such as: Prada, Sergio Tacchini, H3G, Vodafone.
