About the Author

Maria Mayo earned her doctorate in history and critical theories of religion at Vanderbilt University. She is coeditor of several volumes of The Feminist Companion to the New Testament and Early Christian Literature series. Mayo is currently the communications coordinator for the National Health Care for the Homeless Council.
