About the Author

Alain Beltran est historien, directeur de recherche au Centre National de la Recherche scientifique, membre de l'UMR SIRICE, commune aux universites Paris-Sorbonne et Pantheon-Sorbonne. Ses recherches portent essentiellement sur l'histoire de l'energie depuis la fi n du XIXe siecle, l'histoire d'entreprise, l'evolution des grands services publics et l'innovation. Alain Beltran, Historian, is Professor and Research Director at National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), and member of UMR SIRICE (Pantheon-Sorbonne and Paris-Sorbonne). His main research fields are history of Energy XIXth-XXIst centuries (oil and gas, electricity, energy savings), business history (especially state-owned companies), technical networks and territories, and innovation history.
