Barbara Simms is a garden and landscape historian with a particular
interest in the design, conservation and interpretation of
landscapes of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Barbara was
co-coordinator of the MA Garden History at Birkbeck, University of
London, until 2012 and is now course director of the MA in Garden
and Landscape History at the Institute of Historical Research.
A former owner of a T8 house in Wimbledon, she completed her
dissertation on landscape conservation on Span estates at the
Architectural Association.
