GUERNSEY 1999 £5.00 crown sized coin struck to commemorate the Millennium. An unusual bi-metallic coin, with brass centre and cupro-nickel outer, the reverse depicts hands holding planet Earth, with the date 2000, and the rising sun in the background. The obverse shows the small portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, KM.91. The coin is struck in cupro-nickel by the Royal Mint and is 38.6mm in diameter. The coin is housed within a display that is held in a slide open protection case, sized 64mm x 64mm. The display and case are in New/Mint condition and the coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition. The manufacturing process for the display includes a precision laser cutting method to create the necessary holes for the required coins to be inserted and held, safely recessed, in the correct position.
