  • Roots revivalist Corey Harris continues his ambitious exploration of musical history with ZION CROSSROADS, a project that finds Harris immersed in the rhythms and consciousness of traditional roots reggae. The exceptions are the African-inflected "Walter Rodney" and the straight country tune "Plantation Town." The overall result is a satisfying, groove-driven album heightened by a political consciousness that will appeal to Harris fans as well as to classic roots reggae enthusiasts.
