  • Originally released in 1983, TREELESS PLAIN was the first album by Australian post-punks the Triffids. Although it's smaller in scope than later, majestic-sounding albums like 1985's BORN SANDY DEVOTIONAL, these songs make plain leader David McCombs's knack for insightful, quirky lyrics and sparse, country- and folk-influenced indie rock tunes. Particular highlights include the college radio favorite "My Baby Thinks She's A Train."
