  • Best known for her omnipresent radio hits "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" and "I Don't Want To Wait" (the theme to the popular teen TV drama DAWSON'S CREEK), New England-based singer-songwriter Paula Cole released three albums in the last half of the 1990s, and their finest moments are neatly anthologized on this 16-track compilation. A link between the autobiographical starkness of Aimee Mann and Tori Amos and the more overtly pop-oriented sounds of Jewel or Sheryl Crow, Cole's mature and thoughtful pop was always confident and never strayed into adult-contemporary blandness.
