  • The genesis for Eliza Gilkyson's BEAUTIFUL WORLD was a series of community forums the Austin-based singer-songwriter held with a Presbyterian minister and a University of Texas professor in 2007, in response to what Gilkyson saw as the accelerated collapse of the environment and the country as a whole. Likely Gilkyson's most overtly political album, with songs like "The Great Correction" and "The Party's Over," BEAUTIFUL WORLD avoids finger-pointing through an overall sense of optimism and belief.
