About the Author

Dr David Hay is a former director of the Religious Experience Research Unit set up by Alister Hardy. He was Reader in Spiritual Education at Nottingham University until 2000, when he was appointed Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen. A trained zoologist, he has written a number of books and articles on the biological basis of spirituality.
