Moira McPartlin made a big impact with her debut novel The Incomers, which tells the tale of a West African woman moving to a small town in 1960s Scotland. It was shortlisted for the Saltire Society First Book of the Year Award and was a critical success. Moira is also a prolific writer of short stories and poetry and has been published in a variety of literary magazines. She currently lives in Stirlingshire. Her second novel, Ways of the Doomed, is the first book in the Sun Song Trilogy. It was published in June 2015.
Wants of the Silent is a wonderful sequel - action-packed but emotionally driven. McPartlin's world-building is second-to-none, her writing intelligent and immersive and The Sun Trilogy goes a long way towards reinvigorating the dystopian genre. ;Keith Gray, Author of Ostrich Boys
