Leonard Sonnenschein has over 48 years experience in keeping fish, 37 years experience in scientific research, 25 years experience in science education innovation, over 100 publications, and extensive performance in conservation collaboration, climate change issues and public awareness. During the first part of Leonard's career, he managed a medical research laboratory during which time he delved further into the bio -physiology of cells, looking at the effect of various solutions' effects on electrical potentials of stomach cells. The research animals used were larval salamanders. These animals would often get diseases which were also effectively treated after many trials with salt, and the health of the animals' cells when they were treated was improved by the presence of salt in special proportion. From 1992 to the present, Leonard has been the CEO of the World Aquarium in St. Louis. Research on over 30 species of aquatic creatures has shown that aquatic species exposed to salt solutions improves their health, growth, immunosurveillance, and that delivery of large molecules into the cell without injection can be enhanced (United States Patent 6,238,706: Sonnenschein May 29, 2001; Method of stimulating growth in aquatic animals). Due to the results in fish, Leonard considered mammalian applications as a next step. In 2011, Leonard began looking the human applications of this technology regarding delivery of large molecules and an independent study proved an 9.6x adsorption of vitamin D3 using this technique (United States Provisional Application #61/716331: Sonnenschein October 17, 2012; Methods and Compositions for Enhancing the Uptake of an Active Ingredient). It was found to be effective for who used it for improved absorption of vitamins, cosmetic uses beneficial for patients based on test subject relations, and radioactive metal removal. With the results in for many different types of applications of the BOOSTER and GroFish patented processes, it is clear that Leonard has found a new mechanistic understanding of the cell wall was emerging that could be beneficial to consumers from the nutritional, medicinal and beauty aspect.
