As a child, the author was concerned about the hostile attitudes of some people toward others. Unable to understand it he sought answers from personal observations, peers, parents, and teachers but just as a friend of his peers. In 1960 he was hired by the California Youth Authority (CY A) as a Group Supervisor at The Preston School of Industry (PSI). What started as a secure and comfortable occupation became the beginning of a life long career. He spent the rest of his life seeking answers to how to turn seemingly wasted lives back to the direction of their potential.
