About the Author

Roisin Fitzpatrick - Artist of the Light is a leading contemporary Irish artist. She is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and the University of Geneva where she specialised in Business and International Relations, speaking both French and Italian. Roisin pursued a career at the United Nations, European Commission and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Following a brain aneurysm and Near Death Experience, Roisin turned this adversity into a positive life change. She was inspired to create a series of contemporary artworks - the Artist of the Light collection. Evoking a sense of serenity and peace, Roisin's primary intention through this art is to introduce and share the beauty of the light and create a greater sense of well-being in both residential and corporate environments.Roisin exhibits regularly on both sides of the Atlantic, and her work is on permanent display at The Irish American Heritage Museum in upstate New York, and at the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Ireland. Taking Heaven Lightly is her first book.

A book of wise words that will introduce some people to the light, will draw others back to the light, and will itself long shine light in all sorts of unforeseeable and beautiful ways. Every reader can undoubtedly expect to have their own personal epiphany. A brilliant book with an unforgettable message - Dr Christine Ranck, author of 'Ignite the Genius Within'Roisin Fitzpatrick has written a remarkable book that is unique in the annals of near-death experiences ... As a guide to enhancing your own spirituality, Taking Heaven Lightly is a love story in the most sublime sense - Dr Bruce Greyson, co-editor of The Handbook of Near Death Experiences: Thirty Years of InvestigationA very important and poignant personal account of her near-death experience - Anthony Murphy, author of Newgrange: Monument to ImmortalityAn authentic, moving and motivating book ... Read it and be enlightened! - Dr Martin Curley, author of Knowledge Driven EntrepreneurshipI approached Taking Heaven Lightly with my usual academic scepticism, but the clear, sincere, even humorous, style, attracted me and I was drawn in. I remembered that early Irish Christianity is bathed in light. I think Ms. Fitzpatrick's rehabilitation of pre-Christian Irish spirituality of light is excellent. Suaimhneas siorai "eternal rest" and solas na bhflaitheas "the light of heaven" are two phrases that similarly share the wisdom and beauty of our heritage. I look forward to the author's next inspirational book" - Dr Tadhg O'Dushlaine, Head of Dept for the Centre for Irish Cultural Heritage, NUI Maynooth
