Feb 14 If you are a fan of the classic novels of H G Wells and Jules Verne then chances are you are into steampunk. A mashup of Victoriana, steam technology, SF and fantasy, you will have as much fun collecting the items for the jewellery as in making and wearing it. As with all the titles in this series inside these covers are twenty projects. Some prior knowledge of basic jewellery making techniques like working with findings, using pliers etc are assumed although none of the projects is hard to make. Just one features crochet with wire, perhaps positioned last as it uses other skills. Each project covers two pages and features a whole page photo of the finished item in a suitable setting and on the other page a list of what you need, full instructions and a photo of the item on white, plus a detail. Choose from necklaces, bracelets, pendants, rings, charms and earrings resplendent with a mixture of antique charms, cogs, keys, chains and more - think Victorian meets industrial. Most pieces would make up quite quickly and all are fun to make and likely to attract attention of the best sort when worn. An imaginative addition to any crafter's library and one I look forward to dipping into often. * Myshelf.com * Dec 13 Another addition to the 20 to Make series, jewellery designer Carolyn Schulz presents her steampunk jewellery ideas in an easy-to-read paperback format. The book contains simple step-by-step instructions on how to assemble pieces of on-trend jewellery, as well as inspiring readers to create their own original steampunk variations. From pendants, bracelets and necklaces to rings, earrings and much more, this book provides the basis to influence many new projects. Carolyn has an extensive history in craft, being a freelance designer in the industry for the past 20 years. She has written many books on jewellery design and her projects are widely used by magazines, retailers, manufacturers and have even been featured on television. * Craft Business * Jan/Feb 14 Steampunk jewellery's reputation has rocketed over the past few years, helped with the introduction of new products and inspiring ideas being promoted in the media. It shows no sign of slowing as we head into the bulk of 2014, and the release of this new book will help cement its trendy persona even further. Jewellery designer Carolyn Schulz has created 20 imaginative pieces of cool Steampunk jewellery for readers to make, in this latest title from the Twenty to Make series. With simple step-by-step instructions and clear still life images, as well as beautiful lifestyle shots, just opening the first few pages of this book will help you to be inspired to make your own inventions. From brooches to necklaces, bracelets and charming rings, there is ample choice for readers to create something magical. * Craft Business * Jewellery designer Carolyn Schulz has created 20 imaginative pieces of trendy steampunk jewellery for you to make. Lol I made a big mistake and somehow managed to order two of the same book but I don't care :-) I love the book so much and I am looking forward to making items from the book but adding my own twist to it all, as for the second book well my local library did not have much in the way of Steampunk so I will be donating it to them so others will find what I found, that's its a great book :-)
