children's storybook is Animals Don't, So I Won't!
"[It] reads like a storyboard for an animated cartoon. The plot is
neatly summarized by the back-cover portrait of the
anthropomorphized squid holding the tools of his various
trades."Kirkus
Humorous and dramatic illustrations from DreamWorks animator
Derrick are the book's highlight.” The Horn Book
"Sid the Squid was truly wonderful! The expressions on Sid's face
are priceless, the art is fantastic, and I love that the artist
added the Monterey Bay Aquarium kelp forest. Thanks for sharing and
publishing this wonderful book!" - Dori DeCommer, Librarian, Contra
Costa County, CA
"My son loves Sid the Squid and I love reading it to him. We highly

Review
“If you want to look for a moral in this story, I think perhaps a
more valuable one can be found in Sid's generous spirit. Above all,
he wants to help others, and that unselfish desire is eventually
what finds him the right job…The art is gorgeous, expressive, and
for the most part scientifically accurate...Would I read Sid the
Squid to my kids? Absolutely." – Science 2.0
“While the target audience isn’t currently scouring the job market,
Derrick has given them Sid the Squid, whose humorous tale with
action-packed illustrations will be remembered.” - Kelly Behle,
Youth Services Librarian, Los Angeles County Library System

"Sid the giant squid, with his many useful arms and huge,
expressive eyes, searches San Francisco for the perfect job....its
hilarious to see Sid's multitasking legs in handsome,
computer-generated cartoon illustrations rendered by a seasoned
DreamWorks story artist." - Bayviews, Association of Children's

Review
"A Children's Book that Entertains Adults Too...While the majority
of preschoolers and early elementary-age children whom the book is
directed at are probably not concerned that they will not find
their dream job, the book does provide an empowering message that
adults (particularly the recently college-educated, but jobless)
will want to pass on to their children. And for the children
themselves, the book provides an endearingly earnest squid they can
root for."
