About the Author

Herge (Georges Remi) was born in Brussels in 1907. Over the course of 54 years he completed 23 albums of The Adventures of Tintin series, which is now considered to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, comics series of all time. With translations published in over 80 languages, more than 230 million copies sold worldwide and a Hollywood movie to its name, Tintin dominates the Comics and Graphic Novels chart even today. Sadly, Herge died in 1983, leaving his 24th album, Tintin and Alph-Art, unfinished, but his hero continues to be one of the most iconic characters in both adult and children's fiction.

Geoff Roberts on
When I was a kid I used to love reading the TinTin books and watching the cartoons on TV. Now I have a 10 year old son I wanted to share these adventures with him as well as re live some of my childhood. I've stated with "The Secret Of The Unicorn" as that is the story that introduces Capt Haddack. We are reading a bit each night and stopping just as something big is about to happen, just like they did in the cartoons, and then reading a bit more the next night. My Son is hooked and we are both having fun reading together. Yes they are a little dated, but I think that just adds to the atmosphire plus it's a refreshing point of differance between these and more modern storys. Steven Spielberg is working on a movie to be released in 2010, so now's a good time to re discover TinTin!
