About the Author

David Paterson is a career photographer working full-time in commercial and editorial photography for over thirty years. During the past fifteen or so years, especially, he has been very involved in the world of books and has been author or co-author of more than a dozen books on landscape and travel photography, including 2 books on London, two on the Himalayas and a number on the Scottish Highlands. David Craig held the chair of Creative Writing at Lancaster University for many years and is the author of several volumes of both fiction and non-fiction, poetry and literary criticism. In Scotland he is best known for his successful book on the Highland Clearances, "On the Crofter's Trail". The two authors are currently collaborating on a new volume on the Clearances which is planned for publication in late 2004.
