Smith, whose 23 adventure yarns have sold more than 50 million copies, sets his most recent epic in civil war-torn ancient Egypt. The first print run is 150,000 copies.

Set against the backdrop of the Hyksos invasion of Egypt, circa 1780 B.C., Smith's adventurous tale of ancient love, intrigue and avarice was a three-week PW bestseller. (Feb.)

A fantastic beginning to the Egyptian series is this ancient history tail ‘River God’ by Wilbur Smith. He leads you on a memorable journey through the Egyptian delta to deep into the soil rich areas inland. A history lesson awaits you within the six hundred plus page of the novel and when it ends you really do regret it. The story continues with ‘The Seventh Scroll’, so don’t be alarmed.
