Kenny Vaughan is a husband, a father of three, a world-class
athlete, and a servant of Jesus Christ. Over the years, he has been
featured in a number of interviews with national media, inspiring
tens of thousands across the country.
Growing up, Kenny learned to waterski, to hunt and fish, to
understand God's perfect love, and to honor God, country, and
family. For fifteen years, he chased his dream of winning the
national waterski long-jump championship, and, bolstered by the
scriptures scrawled on his ski tow-rope handles, he achieved his
dream against all odds. Vaughan took the scriptures that inspired
him that day and had them inscribed on dog tags. Kenny founded
Shields of Strength, a company that distributes inspirational
scripture engraved upon dog tags and other jewelry. The necklaces
have become popular with professional and aspiring
athletes--including Olympians, military personnel, law enforcement,
students, and adults from all walks of life who find encouragement
in scripture to face life's challenges.
Vaughan's first book, Shields of Strength: One Man's Victory over
Fear and What It Has Meant for America, was published in 2010 by
Brown Books. The Right Fight: How to Live a Loving Life turns its
focus to fear's polar opposite: pure, unselfish love for
others.
Kenny Vaughan lives in Southeast Texas, near Beaumont, with Tammie,
the love of his life, and their three children.
