About the Author

Paul Moorhouse is an art historian and curator. He was Senior Curator at the National Portrait Gallery, London (2005–17) and Senior Curator at Tate, London (1985–2005). Publications include Bridget Riley: A Very Very Person (2022), Cindy Sherman (2014), Gerhard Richter: Painting Appearances (2009), and Richard Long: Walking the Line (2003). Jane Neal is an independent curator, writer and art consultant based in the UK with a speciality in contemporary painting practice. Recent shows include Introducing 21st Century Women (Unit Gallery, London 2018), Disruptive Imagination (Ferenczy Museum Center, Szentendre, Hungary, 2017) and A Question of Perspective (Grimm Gallery, Amsterdam 2016). James Cahill is an art historian and critic based in London Matt Price is a London-based publisher, editor and writer. He holds a BA in art history from the University of Nottingham and an MA in curating from the Royal College of Art, London. His writing has featured in magazines such as Art Monthly, ArtReview, frieze and Flash Art, and he is a regular contributor to Art Quarterly, the magazine of Art Fund.
