About the Author

Rod Warren developed an interest in ancient Roman history in college. What started as an infatuation, quickly developed into a desire to learn more about the Praetorian Guard. This desire led him to several years of researching articles, books, and historical accounts describing the elite military unit, especially during the reigns of Tiberius Caesar and Gaius "Caligula" Caesar. This research helped greatly in lending authenticity to his story and the creative writing class he took and books on writing he read, helped him to tell the story better. Warren is a veteran of the U.S. Army and spent ten years in law enforcement.
