David R Webb, MD,FRACS has researched, written and taught PCNL in workshops continuously throughout the first and third world since. He has been awarded a Master of Surgeon and Doctor of Medicine for his research, innovation and instrument design for percutaneous renal surgery by the University of Melbourne. The author pioneered paediatric PCNL in Melbourne, and in doing so, developed the single-stage dilator and single-stage technique of access to the kidney.
"This is the first handbook dedicated exclusively to percutaneous renal stone surgery. ... This manual aims to provide a stepwise framework for the percutaneous treatment of nephrolithiasis warranting PCNL, including both simple and complex scenarios. Given its well-organized format and detailed content, this practical book is suitable for a wide spectrum of learners ranging from trainees (residents, fellows) to practicing urologists (general, subspecialists). ... It is a valuable portable resource for urology trainees or practicing urologists treating patients with nephrolithiasis." (Kelly A. Healy, Doody's Book Reviews, May, 2016)
