About the Author

G. N. Devy is the chief editor of the PLSI series. He taught at the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, till 1996 before leaving to set up the Bhasha Research Centre in Baroda and the Adivasi Akademi at Tejgadh.

Badri Narayan is a social historian and cultural anthropologist and the Director of GBPSSI, Allahabad. His interests range from memory and politics, contemporary histories, ethnography of marginalised politics, to Dalit and subaltern issues and identity formation and the question of power.

Rama Shanker Singh has an MA in Ancient History of India and PhD on community rights of subaltern castes from GBPSSI, Allahabad.
