Delivers essential parenting and family life skills for church leaders
Previously a full-time children’s and families worker and the National Children’s Work Coordinator for New Wine, Rachel Turner continues to consult, speak at conferences and run training days for parents, church leaders and youth workers. She is the pioneer of Parenting for Faith, author of the Parenting Children for a Life of Faith series and presents the Parenting for Faith course, a video-based resource for church groups and individuals. Until March 2022, she led the Parenting for Faith team at BRF.
'This book is full of wise and practical advice on raising children
in the very unique environment of ministry life. Having these tips
is like having a wise counsellor journey with you through your
children's most formative years, with the goal of keeping strong
connections with you and with God.'Lt Colonel Naomi Kelly,
assistant principal for ministry development, Eastern Territory,
College for Officer Training, Salvation Army
'What I value greatly in Rachel Turner's book is how she doesn't
avoid the "tricky bits"; she tackles them head on through sharing
real stories that add an authentic edge as she suggests alternative
habits for us to form. This book is the work of someone who knows
the reality and challenges of being both a parent and a church
leader. And it overflows with understanding and helpful approaches
that enable us to parent well. Parenting as a Church Leader is a
book that will enable everyone in these unique roles - as well as
their children - to grow and fully flourish.'Gail Adcock, family
ministries development officer, Methodist Church
'If the first church that we lead is the one at home, most of us in
full-time paid ministry need a lot more training. I am grateful to
Rachel for helping us parent well when it often feels that we face
unique pressures as families in the context of church
leadership.'Paul Harcourt, national leader, New Wine England
